Heather Greenawalt, LCSW-R is the Director of the Behavioral Health Services Department at Universal
Primary Care (UPC), a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with offices in three rural counties in
Western New York and one rural county in the northern tier of Western Pennsylvania. Heather joined
UPC in 2012 and has pioneered integrated behavioral health services in her area. Heather is passionate
about team-based care and increasing access to evidenced-based treatments for behavioral health
issues within the primary care setting. Her commitment to the community is exemplified through her
role at UPC and work with the Community Health Care Association of New York State. She provides
direct practice services as well as clinical and programmatic supervision of the Behavioral Health
program over 5 clinic sites.
A member of the ADAA since 2015, Heather is an active participant on the membership committee and
is a past CDLP awardee. In addition, Heather is involved in multiple community-based efforts that
promote trauma informed care and suicide prevention and education. Heather enjoys reading, traveling,
and spending time with family and friends. Alongside her husband, Mark, Heather is proudly raising
three children and you will find her amidst the crowds of their sporting events.
